BACK: from the base of the neck to the base of the tail
CHEST: behind the front legs, around the deepest part of the chest
NECK: around the neck where the collar would sit

Easy to set up the pattern, easy instructions to follow. I was done within 2 hours, that is from the time I printed the pattern, to when I put it on the dog, and I had to make modifications in order for it to match a Halloween costume.
